Yvonne (Vonnie) Gratz, 67, of David City passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Emerald Nursing & Rehab in Columbus after a long battle with various health issues.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in David City. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 until 10 a.m. with a 10 a.m. rosary, all at the church. A private family burial of her ashes will take place at Grimton Cemetery near Page, Nebraska. Moravec Johnson Mortuary is handling arrangements for Vonnie’s family.
She was born on November 25, 1957 in Sterling, Colorado to Glen and Karen Knight and grew up helping on the family farm near O'Neil, Nebraska. She went to LPN school and had a working career as a nurse, most recently with Witter Family Medicine in David City, before diabetes took its toll on her body and she could no longer work. In the years following she enjoyed spending time at home with her husband, Dave, and their pets, visits with her children and grandchildren, dinner outings with her brothers and sisters-in-law, shopping and lunch dates with her friend, Mary, and attending CFO Christian camp in Paynesville, Minnesota, each summer with dear friends.
She is survived by her husband David Gratz of David City, children Anna (Tim) of Boone, Iowa, Andrew (Holly) of Amarillo, Texas, Anthony (Ashlee) of Quito, Ecuador, South America, and Aaron (Jennifer) of Lincoln, Nebraska, brothers Ron (Mirna) Knight of Tilden, Nebraska and Gary (Kim) Knight of Norfolk, Nebraska, brother-in-law George (Sandra) Gratz of Torrance, California, grandchildren Violet and Weston, Cambryn and Brecken, Krew, Granger and Ford, nieces and nephews.
Vonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Karen Knight, aunts and uncles.
