Victor "Vic" Urban, 80, of Schuyler, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home in Schuyler.

Per Vic's wishes he will be cremated and buried next to his wife and daughter.

Victor R. Urban was born on August 28, 1945 in Columbus to Raymond and Libby (Smrz) Urban. He attended country school near Clarkson and graduated from school in 1963. Upon his graduation he enlisted in the service and was honorably discharged in 1965. After his discharge, his married Janice "Jane" Engel at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler. For many years Vic drove a delivery truck for Wayne Feeds. In the 1980's he began helping at the Schuyler Cemetery with mowing and upkeep and eventually became the Sexton which he held until his stroke.

Vic enjoyed being outdoors, which is why he enjoyed his job at the cemetery so much. When he wasn't mowing at the cemetery he was usually at home working in the yard, or could be seen taking a drive through the cemetery to make sure everything was in its place. Vic enjoyed getting to see his grandson Wyatt, and also loved following Husker sports, particularly the football team.

Vic is survived by his his son Samuel and his wife Samantha of Columbus and their son Wyatt, and one Sister Valeria Houfek of Sioux Falls, SD, sister-in-law Juliann Nosal of Columbus, three brothers-in-law; Jon (Anne) Engel of Richland, Joel (Susan) Engel of Columbus, Jerel (Carol) Engel of Richland as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jane in 2021, and daughter Angela Urban in 1989.
