Susan Bongers, 70, of David City passed away on June 6, 2013, at Bryan-LGH in Lincoln.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bernard Kimminau officiating. Viewing will be Sunday from 5 until 6 at the church followed by a 6 PM Rosary. Viewing will resume one hour before mass on Monday at the church.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS: Memorials have been suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Susan M. Bongers was born June 22, 1942, to Philip and Dorothy (Moran) Schlentz in David City, NE. She graduated from St. Mary's High School then went on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Susan married Alfred Bongers on August 31, 1984. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Sara Bongers of Denver, CO; brother, John Schlentz of San Diego, CA; sister, Lea Korinek of Lincoln; twin sister, Nancy Erisman of Lincoln; twin brothers, Patrick (Beth) Schlentz of Omaha, and Michael Schlentz of Red Wing, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Bongers (May 25, 2013); and sister, Jean Schlentz.
