Rose M. Vanis, of Bellwood, peacefully passed away on September 8, 2026, at Butler County Health.
Visitation will be Monday, September 14th from 5-7 pm followed by a 7pm Rosary Service all held at Presentation Parish (Marietta). Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 15th from 9-10 with the Funeral Mass starting at 10am. Burial will take place at St. Peter & Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Aquinas Catholic Schools or Family Wishes.
Rose was born on August 11, 1927, in Ewing, Nebraska, to Louis and Ludmilla (Blatny) Shavlik. She grew up in Linwood, where she attended school and graduated from Linwood High School in 1944. After high school, Rose earned her teaching certificate from Midland College. On May 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to George Vanis at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Linwood.
