Ronald E. Lapacek, 71, of Bellwood, passed away Monday, September 21st in Omaha. Graveside services for Ron will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Schuyler.
Ron was born December 21, 1943 in Columbus to Edward and Matilda (Svec) Lapacek. He attended District 43 grade school and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1962. Ron served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1963 to 1969. Ron was a welder for Arps Ready Mix. He was an excellent machinist, loved to fish, drive his airboat, was a Nascar fan and loved attending events where he could visit with people. He was a member of the Schuyler Snow Stars (a snowmobiling club) and was a lifetime member of the Nebraska Airboaters Association.
Ron is survived by a sister MaryAnn (Paul) Kroeger of Schuyler, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
