Ronald Jecha

Ronald Jecha, 67, of Brainard, passed away July 9, 2025 on the family farm after suffering a fatal heart attack. 

Family greeting friends will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 5 until 7 pm at Moravec Johnson Mortuary in David City. Burial of Ron's ashes will be in the Old Holy Trinity Cemetery outside of Brainard at a later date. Moravec Johnson Mortuary is handling arrangements for Ron's family. 

Ron was born on October 26, 1957 in Wahoo to Albert J. and Dorothy M. (Slama) Jecha. He attended and graduated from Brainard High School, and upon graduating helped his father Albert on the family farm. In the early 1990's Ron decided he wanted to learn a new trade and learned how to move houses and other buildings. Ron enjoyed the new challenges that came with every building move and also enjoyed meeting many of the customers he helped along the way. He still tinkered around with some aspects of farming, keeping a few head of cattle, and always having projects to work on. Ron was willing to help anyone out, always had a story to tell (you got to decide if it was factual or bs), and never turned down a cold drink and a good conversation with a friend. 

Ron is survived by his brother Harvey (Judy) Jecha of Lincoln, nephews: Andrew Jecha and his sons Case, Avery, and Lanz; and Troy Jecha and his daughters Harleen and Jayne, as well as many friends and neighbors. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Dorothy.
