Ronald Helgoth

Ronald Helgoth, 64, of David City passed away on October 2, 2026 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City, Nebraska. 

A Rosary will be said at 9:30am on Friday, October 16th at St. Francis Catholic Church, David City.  The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 at the church. 

Ron was born March 5, 1962 to Howard and Georgia(Novak) Helgoth in David City, Nebraska. He attended Arnolds Elementary School in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1983. After high school he worked for a while in Lincoln at various jobs, then moved back to David City in 1985 after his father passed away.  Ron then worked at Region V Services for a few years and after some health issues he lived with his mother. Together they moved to St. Joseph's Court in 1994. After his mother passed away he continued to live there.  After more health issues he then moved to St. Joseph's Villa. 

Ron enjoyed participating in several events during the Special Olympics.  He also loved Nebraska Husker Football, and the Big Rodeo in Burwell, Nebraska. 

He is survived by his brothers: Jerome Helgoth of Grand Island, Gerald Helgoth of Davey, Bernie(Tami) Helgoth of Bruno; brother-in-laws: Buzz Jelinek of Bee, and Ted Coufal of Bruno; 15 nieces & nephews, several great-nieces & nephews and several great-great nieces & nephews. 

Ron is preceded in death by his parents: Howard & Georgia(Novak) Helgoth; sisters: Rose Marie Jelinek, and Mary Lou Coufal; and 2 great-nephews.
