Ronald Aase, 86, of Monroe, died on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Svoboda Funeral Home in Schuyler with Pastor Day Hefner officiating. Lunch will follow the service and burial of Ron’s ashes will be at 2 p.m. at Linwood Hill Cemetery, rural Linwood. Svoboda Funeral Home is handling arrangements for Ron’s family.
Ronald G. Aase was born on November 24, 1936 in Albion, Nebraska to Henry and Elaine (Ladd) Aase. He attended school in Albion. Ron and his first wife Catherine moved to California where Ron found work and four children were born to this marriage. After Catherine passed away, Ron moved his family back to Nebraska to be closer to family. He married Bessie Malina in Yankton, South Dakota on November 19, 1970, one son was born to this marriage.
Ron was a very handy and self-taught mechanic, when he moved back to Nebraska he used his mechanic skills at the Alfalfa Mill where he worked for 25 years, and Gerhold Concrete where he worked for 30 years until his recent retirement. After his retirement Ron spent many hours meticulously restoring and rebuilding old Ford tractors. Ron took great pride in maintaining all of his vehicles and passing on that knowledge to his family. One of his other duties you could find Ron doing was cutting wood to heat the house, and over the years, it was a lot of wood.
Ron is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bessie of Monroe, his children: Tim Aase, Cheri (Dennis) Krzycki, Randy (Kris) Aase, Terry (Janet) Reigle, and Bryan Aase; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and brother Daniel (Cindy) Aase as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Catherine, and three brothers Henry, Allan, and Maurice Aase.
