Linda S. Doty

Linda S. Doty, 71, of David City died Thursday, November 23, 2023 at St. Joseph's Villa.

In lieu of flowers, plants, or statues: Memorials may be directed towards Region V Services or the Bellwood Fire Department.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the David City Cemetery. Lunch to follow at Northside Café in David City.

Linda Sue Doty was born June 2, 1952, to Levi and Mildred Doty in Lincoln, Nebraska. Linda lived in Lincoln and Beatrice before coming to David City in 1977 to benefit from the services and programs of Region V. She enjoyed her job working in the sawmill room while at Region V and was a member of the "cool" chicks at Region V. Linda lived with Caroline Scholz in Bellwood for many, many years and in residential homes with Region V until moving to St. Joseph’s Villa in 2021.

Linda enjoyed shredding paper, recycling pop cans, and saving the top tabs off cans to send to Ronald McDonald House. Linda enjoyed coloring and doing crossword puzzles. Linda loved a good cheeseburger and a red beer or two, she especially enjoyed going to First and Ten after church on Saturday nights. Linda also liked watching Bianca and Danica’s sporting events including many softball games, thanks to the staff of Region V. Region V was very supportive and encouraging of taking Linda to games and other outings before moving to St. Joseph’s Villa.
