Larry Pieters,70, formerly of Rising City, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Park Place in Grand Island.
Graveside Services will be Monday July 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Circle Mound Cemetery near Rising City with Pastor David Schultz officiating. As per Larry's wishes, there will be no visitation.
Memorials have been suggested to the Village of Rising City.
Larry J. Pieters was born January 25, 1942 to Theordore "Ted" and Vava (Minick) Pieters in Grand Island, NE. He was a graduate of Rising City High School. He enlisted in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1969.
Larry loved to garden and tend to his flowers. He had a love for the outdoors, boating and fishing with his children. He also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the American Legion in Columbus.
Larry is survived by his children: Becky Howard of Fremont and Merlyn "Guy" Pieters of Grand Island; a twin sister Mary Alice (Jerome) Scholz of Shelby; 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild as well as a niece and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
