Kenneth Leroy Klingemann, 91 of Garrison passed away November 14, 2025 at the Butler County Health Care Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19th from 4-6pm at Moravec Johnson Mortuary in David City. Visitation will continue Thursday, November 20th from 1-2pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Rising City, with the Funeral Service starting at 2pm. Burial will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Kenneth was born January 26, 1934 to Theodore and Anna(Heins) Klingemann in David City. He was baptized on February 18, 1934 and confirmed on May 9, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rising City, where he was a life-long member. Kenneth attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from David City High School on May 21, 1952. After high school he served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 as a radar operator with the Fourth Infantry Division Artillery Headquarters at Fort Lewis, Washington.
On August 23, 1969 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Remmers. Together they resided on a farm near Ulysses until moving to Garrison in 2006. Two daughters were born to this union: Rachel Renae and Katherine Marie.
Kenneth served on the school board of District #31 from 1975 until it closed. He also served as an Elder on the Finance Committee on the Board of Education, and as chairman of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Kenneth loved farming and fixing things. He and Marjorie traveled on many bus tours and playing in their card club. Kenneth also really enjoyed having coffee with the guys in Garrison.
He is survived by his wife: Marjorie; daughters: Rachel(Darrin) Rathman of Grand Island and Katherine(Kellen) Benes of David City; 4 grandchildren: Devin Rathman(Stephanie Mashuga), Zachary Rathman, Brook Benes(Kory Diefendorf), John Benes; 1 great-grandchild: Kollynns Diefendorf); sister: Mary Ann Zielich of Omaha; brothers and sisters-in-laws: Dave(Alice) Remmers, John Remmers, Stephen(Judy) Remmers, Marianne Ziethen and Dianne Musil; and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law: Helmut Zielich, Karl Ziethen, Stanley Musil, George Remmers; sister-in-law: Holly Remmers; and nephew: Helmut Zielich, Jr.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the David City Volunteer Fire Department.
