James D. Krzycki

Funeral Mass for James D. Krzycki, age 71 of Schuyler, will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Svoboda Funeral Home South Chapel. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.

Jim was born May 3, 1943 in Columbus to Phillip L. and Julia J. (Vrba) Krzycki. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1961 and then attended the Li9ncoln School of Commerce. He was employed by several utilities companies in the accounting and computer departments and worked in Lincoln, Denver and Des Moines. After retiring he moved back to Schuyler and owned and operated an antique store called the Country Mouse. Jim was an avid button and antique collector. He is a Life Member and officer of the Schuyler Historical Society and curator of the museum. He was a member of the National Button Society and won several First Place Awards at national events. He is co-author of “Images of America – Colfax County” book and wrote articles about the history of Schuyler. Jim died March 3rd at his apartment.

Jim is survived by his brother, Don of Schuyler; niece, Kelly Xavier of San Antonio, Texas and her children, Isabel and Noah; nephew, Phil Krzycki of Omaha.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral lunch will be served at St. Mary's Social Center following the mass.
