Herbert Vogel, 92, of Schuyler passed away Sunday, November 24,2019 at Emerald Care Center in Columbus.

Herbert (Herb) Vogel was born on September 17, 1927 on the family farm near Dodge to Bernard (Ben) and Elizabeth (Ulrich) Vogel. He attended Sacred Heart Academy at Olean. He served in the Korean War from November 1950 to August 1952 and was stationed in Korea and Japan. He then came back to the family farm. On February 10, 1955 he married Dolores Faltin, daughter of George and Agnes (Schlautman) Faltin at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder. Herb and Dolores farmed northwest of Olean until 1991 when they retired to Schuyler.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dolores of Schuyler, daughter Linda (Clifford) Cattau of Columbus and son Duane (Carla Reynolds) of Gretna, two grandsons Christopher Cattau and Aaron (Kristen) Cattau, great grandchildren Kierslyn, Axel, Declan, Cayton, and Riddick Cattau; sister Rose (Joe) Franzluebbers, brother-in-law Gilbert (Dolores) Faltin; and many nieces and nephews.
Herb is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Edwin (Wilma) Vogel and Edward (Eleanor) Vogel, and five sisters: Helen (Paul) Wieneke, Adeline (Vincent) Wieneke , Gertrude (Lloyd) Wilde, Raineldis (Henry) Pietzmeier, Alvina (Robert) Kalisek.
