Evelyn Kucera

Evelyn A. Kucera, 83, of Dodge, formerly of Howells, passed away Thursday, May 24, in Dodge. Evelyn was born September 17, 1928 in Clarkson to Anton K. and Anna (Lopour) Zrust. On October 2, 1945, Evelyn married Anton J. "Tony" Kucera at St. John of Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, and the Altar Society. She enjoyed baking, doing needlework, flower gardening and helping on the farm. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Sharlene Vodvarka of Stanton; grandaughters Sandi Grape of Omaha and Jami (Nathan) Young of Omaha; great grandchildren: Hillary, Mallory, Collin and William Young and Eva Grape; sister Delores Semerad of Howells, and brother-in-law and sister-in law Silvin and Mary Kucera of Howells. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Anton, brother Edward Zrust, son-in-law Jim Vodvarka, and great granddaughter Jullia Rose Young. The family suggests memorials to Howells Community Catholic Schools or St. John's Cemetery.
