Emerenciana "Chana" Quezada, residente de Schuyler, falleció el domingo 18 de enero de 2026 en su domicilio en Schuyler.

Se celebrará una misa fúnebre el jueves 22 de enero de 2026 a las 12:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de San Agustín en Schuyler. La familia de Emerenciana recibirá a los amigos de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. el miércoles en la Funeraria Svoboda Moravec Johnson. Se rezará un rosario por Chana a las 11:30 a.m. del jueves en la Iglesia de San Agustín.

Emerenciana Quezada, de 82 años, era hija de José Salud Medina y Gracia López, nacida el 1 de abril de 1943 a la 1:00 a.m. Era una de 12 hermanos: 7 hermanas y 5 hermanos: Guadalupe, Camerina, María, Angélina, Roselia, Elvia y Carolina, Isidro, Bulmaro, José María, Rutilo y Luis, quienes le sobreviven.

Esposa de Manuel Quezada López, enviudó a los 40 años el 6 de julio de 1983. Madre de Bernardo, Bárbara, María Guadalupe, Luis Sergio, Horacio, Zoila, Rubicelia, Héctor Orlando, Olimpia, Griselda, Ángel Jacob y Aaron Yabeth Quesada Medina. Todos la sobrevivieron, excepto Aaron Yabeth. Educación: Solo primaria.

Su mayor logro fue criar a sus 12 hijos después de enviudar. Lo hizo sola, sin ayuda de nadie, siendo a la vez padre y madre para ellos. Siempre les brindó lo necesario, los corrigió y los guió con amor y disciplina. Sobre todo, priorizó su papel de madre por encima de cualquier otro. Siempre veló por sus hijos e hijas. Así transcurrió su vida.

Emigró en 2006 y residió en Schuyler, Nebraska, durante la mayor parte de ese tiempo. Mujer de profunda fe, siempre devota y participando en diversos grupos parroquiales dondequiera que estuviera, como la adoración nocturna y el grupo de jóvenes adultos para Cristo.

Hasta sus últimos días, continuó orando mientras estuvo consciente.

Falleció finalmente el 18 de enero de 2026, a las 10:25 a.m. Amada madre de 12 hijos y abuela de 35 nietos.

Emerenciana "Chana" Quezada, 82, of Schuyler passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at her home is Schuyler.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Schuyler. Emerenciana's family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Svoboda Moravec Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited for Chana at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Augustine Church.

Emerenciana Quezada, 82, was the daughter of José Salud Medina and Gracia López, born on April 1, 1943, at 1:00 a.m. She was one of 12 siblings: 7 sisters and 5 brothers: Guadalupe, Camerina, María, Angélina, Roselia, Elvia, and Carolina, Isidro, Bulmaro, José María, Rutilo, and Luis, all of whom survive her.

The wife of Manuel Quezada López, she was widowed at the age of 40 on July 6, 1983. She was the mother of Bernardo, Bárbara, María Guadalupe, Luis Sergio, Horacio, Zoila, Rubicelia, Héctor Orlando, Olimpia, Griselda, Ángel Jacob, and Aaron Yabeth Quesada Medina. All of her children survived her, except for Aaron Yabeth. Education: Elementary school only.

Her greatest achievement was raising her 12 children after being widowed. She did it alone, without anyone's help, being both father and mother to them. She always provided them with what they needed, corrected them, and guided them with love and discipline. Above all, she prioritized her role as a mother above everything else. She always watched over her sons and daughters. This is how she lived her life.

She emigrated in 2006 and resided in Schuyler, Nebraska, for most of that time. A woman of deep faith, she was always devout and participated in various parish groups wherever she lived, such as nocturnal adoration and the young adult group for Christ.

Until her last days, she continued to pray as long as she was conscious.

She finally passed away on January 18, 2026, at 10:25 a.m. A beloved mother of 12 children and grandmother of 35 grandchildren.
