Emanuel "Red" Pelan, 72, of David City died Monday, January 12, 2015 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln.
Emanuel was born February 4, 1942, on the farm near Bruno, to Ben and Agnes Pelan. He grew up and lived in the Butler County area most of his life. Emanuel worked construction for many years until becoming disabled. He was an avid vegetable gardener, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and polka music.
He is survived by his children: Ann (Paul) Elliott, of Lincoln, Jason Pelan, of Omaha, Rebecca Pelan, of Crete, and Wynita Alicea, of Arizona; sister: Evelyn Goodman, of Omaha; sister-in-law: Eleanor Pelan, of Schuyler; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; 5 nephews and 1 niece.
Emanuel is preceded in death by his parents; brother Julius "Joe" Pelan; and an infant brother Junior Pelan.
