Elsie H. Dvorak, 92, of Brainard, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Bryan/LGH East in Lincoln.

Elsie was born on January 1, 1924 to Thomas and Ludmilla(Polacek)Polivka. She attended country school District 48 and graduated from Brainard High School in 1942. On May 18, 1946, Elsie married Daniel Dvorak at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Lincoln. She worked for Fred Well's in Lincoln, Fairmont Creamery in Omaha and was an assistant manager at Foster's in San Francisco.
Elsie was appointed Postal Clerk in Brainard in November of 1959 and later appointed Post Master on March 6, 1981. She retired on October 2, 1992. She received the Good Neighbor Award in 1996, she also belonged to Holy Trinity Church, PCCW, American Legion Auxiliary and Western Fraternal(ZCBJ). She was a lover of flowers, enjoyed her yard work and baking. She especially enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by her two children, Lyle(Karen)Dvorak of Brainard and Lori(Gary)Hottovy of Lincoln, three grandchildren: Karol(Chris)Kirby, Daniel(Carla)Hottovy and Michael(Julie)Hottovy, four great-grandchildren, Calvin and Kai Kirby and Emma and Jaxon Hottovy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Daniel in 2004.
