Funeral service for Elsie Eva Bowman, age 79 of David City, will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM and on Friday starting at 1 PM. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.
Elsie was born September 12, 1936 in Colfax County to Adolph and Bessie (Vondruska) Divis. She attended rural school in Colfax County. Elsie worked as a medical secretary and she moved to Octavia from Missouri in 1994 after her husband Tom Bowman died and then later she moved to David City. She loved to shop for antiques and garden. She always planted balsom and other beautiful flowers and she was a huge animal lover. Elsie died May 9th at St. Joseph’s Villa in David City where she had been a resident since June 17, 2013 and always received excellent loving care.
Elsie is survived by her four children; Jacki Chollar Bridges and her husband Dave of David City, Kathryn Chollar Barrow of Frankliln, NE, Linda Chollar Sayre of Lincoln and Bobby Chollar of New York; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bowman and her sister, Olga Pospichal.
