Dennis Charles Cech

Dennis M. Cech, 72, of Schuyler, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Omaha. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 17th at Svoboda Funeral Home South Chapel with Father Gerry Gonderinger officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the McLeod Post #47 of the American Legion and the Hespen-Mitchell Post #4836 of the V.F.W. will be at the Schuyler Cemetery.

Dennis was born November 17, 1942 in Howells, Nebraska to Charles and Lillian M. (Sedlacek) Cech. He attended rural school and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1960. Dennis served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 during the Korean War.

Dennis had many hobbies including cooking, baking Kolaches, gardening, going camping, fishing, photography, woodworking, helping Judie with quilting, and computer programming.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Judie of Schuyler, daughter Julie Dyer of Orlando, FL, son Robert Cech of Hastings, grandchildren: Kyle (Aly) Wenske, Jordan Cech and Leos Cech Garcia, great granddaughter Alaina, brother Jerry Cech of Schuyler, stepchildren Amy (Charles) McChristy of Columbus, Adrian (Tina) Hein, Jr. of Columbus and Allen (Kathleen) Hein of Columbus, step-grandchildren Hailey Sklenar, Kyle Hein, Corrine Hein, Alyssa Hein, Colin Hein, Calinda Hein, and step great granddaughters Lauren and Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles.

Svoboda Funeral Home in Schuyler is in charge of arrangements.
