Delores was born on November 25, 1940, in Howells, Nebraska to Joseph and Blanche (Dostal) Uher. She was the youngest of four children.

Delores grew up on a farm near Howells, and she graduated from Howells High School in 1958.

In 1959 she married Jack Adams and together they raised five children: Debra Divis, JoAnne (Bruce) Thompson, Pamela (Dean) Babcock, Cheryl VanDyke, and Barry (Correne) Adams. Delores loved her family which included 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Early in their marriage, Jack and Delores moved their family to Commerce City, Colorado. In addition to being a busy mother and homemaker, she worked full time at Gates Rubber Company. In the early 70’s the family returned to Nebraska to help Delores’s aging father, who lived in Schuyler.

Delores worked hard throughout her life. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Caseys and the Schuyler Hospital. She loved to play BINGO and after retiring she volunteered at the Colfax County Senior Center. She was a member of The Women of Divine Mercy Ladies Guild and often used her skills to help at luncheons.

She will be missed by her family, friends, and the community where she was involved. As Proverbs 31 states, “She was a Woman of wisdom, strength, and dignity. She was faithful over what the lord had given her and now she will be honored for her work.”

Delores was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1998, and two grandchildren: Scott Richtig and Jeff VanDyke.
