Connie Bauer

Connie Bauer, 88, of Rising City died Friday, September 26, 2014 at david place in David City.

Connie Bauer was born on September 17, 1926 at Osceola, Nebraska to Fred and Teresa(Shanahan)Dunn. She attended Osceola area schools and graduated from Osceola High School in 1944. Connie briefly taught school until she married Verland O. Bauer on September 19, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rising City. Three children were born to this union.

Connie worked as head cook for the Rising City Public School for many years until she retired. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was in the Ladies Aid Society and taught Sunday School. She loved to garden and was proud to raise a large variety of flowers. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to bake, sew, can, complete art projects and drawings. She also liked to quilt and was 4H leader for many years.

Connie is survived by her children: Kirk(Barbara)Bauer of Malcolm, NE, Nan(Leo)Sims of Cozad, NE, and Scot(Cindy)Bauer of Rising City. 7 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Verland in 2008, three brothers and one sister.
