Charles A. “Chuck” Lambrecht, 74, of Schuyler, passed away Friday, May 31 at David Place in David City. A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mon. June 3 at Christ Lutheran Church in Columbus. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Sun. June 2 at Svoboda Funeral Home South Chapel. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with Military Honors. Chuck was born March 13, 1939 in Schuyler to George J. and Helen D. (Legler) Lambrecht. He graduated from Trinity Grade School in 1953 and from Schuyler High School in 1957. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957 – 1961 serving on the troop carrier USS Fremont. In 1963 Chuck was awarded an honorable discharge from the Navy. In 1961 Chuck went to work for Becton Dickinson Company in Columbus, retiring in 1999 as a machine designer, but he continued doing project work for BD until 2012. On the side he also had a small job shop called “The Jack of all Trades”. Chuck married Janet Schewe on June 11, 1966 in Murdock, NE. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Columbus, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Schuyler V.F.W. and the American Legion. He sang in the church choir, also teaching and mentoring kids. He was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and a member of the Stamp Club Chuck is survived by his wife, Janet of Schuyler, daughter Sue (Dave) Walters of Glenwood, IA; Son Dave Lambrecht of Lincoln; granddaughters Emily and Jennalyne; sisters Arlene (Merle) Rudebusch of Lincoln and Carolyn (Kyler) Nelson of Fremont, brothers Cliff (RoJean) Lambrecht of Columbus and Fred (Jo) Lambrecht of Lincoln, nieces and nephews and all who’s hearts he touched. Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Grade School or Family Choice. On a personal note, Chuck will be remembered by his family, and many friends.... and by all who's hearts he touched as the greates man that ever lived. He will be dearly missed.
