Barbara A. Hader age 91, passed away peacefully on December 14, leaving behind a life marked by quiet dedication, creativity, faith, and love for family and home.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, with Fr. Walter Jong-A-Kiem officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 until 10:30 at the church. Burial of ashes will take place in St. Henry’s Cemetery.
Barbara graduated from Howells High School and spent her life residing on the family farm near Howells, Nebraska—a place that reflected her deep appreciation for hard work, nature, and community. She devoted her professional life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at ParkView Nursing Home, where her kindness and compassion were evident to residents and colleagues alike.
Barbara had many interests and talents. She was a devoted lover of all animals, particularly dachshund dogs and found joy in their companionship. She was a gifted china painter, expressing her artistic eye through detailed and beautiful designs. Gardening brought her peace and satisfaction, and music was a constant presence in her life. A woman of deep faith, Barbara served as an organist for St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, where her music enriched worship and community gatherings for many years.
Barbara also enjoyed traveling and cherished her trips to Germany, appreciating its culture, history, and connection to her heritage.
She was born to John and Mina Hader and was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Renner, and her brother, John Hader. She is survived by her brother, Robert, and many nieces and nephews, who will remember her for her gentle spirit, artistic talents, and steadfast devotion to family and faith.
Barbara A. Hader will be remembered for a life well lived—rooted in service, creativity, and quiet joy—and for the lasting impression she left on those who knew and loved her.
