Alyce D. Havlovic, 97, formerly of Brainard, passed away November 14, 2025 at Ridgewood Care Center in Seward.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19 from 5-7pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, followed by a Rosary Service at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 20 from 9-10am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Moravec Johnson Mortuary is handling the services.
Alyce Dorothy was born to Albert and Ludmila(Kudlacek) Divis on June 19, 1928. She was one of eight children; being the only girl with six brothers, Alyce was always loved and protected.She attended Oak Creek School District #6 and graduated from Brainard High School in 1945. Alyce was united in marriage to Edward Havlovic on June 18, 1949, and they lived in Brainard all their married life of 53 years. She worked at the Stanek Meat Market and I.G.A Stores for nine years.
Two daughters were born to this union; Ellen Eve and Mary Alice. Alyce enjoyed her time in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Choir and was a member of the American Legion Legion Auxiliary for 80 years. Her two favorite volunteer places for many years were the Holy Trinity Quilting ladies in Brainard and the Blue Valley Community Action Store in David City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Edward; and infant sister: Eleanor; brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom & Martha Divis, Leonard Divis & Bernetta Divis, Eugene & Darlene Divis and RoseAnn Divis.
Alyce is survived by her daughters Ellen & Carl Jirovsky of Seward and Mary & Michael Stutzman of Papillion; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law: Don & Connie Divis, Albert "Bud" Divis, and Edwin Divis.
Alyce was blessed by having a Priest for a grandson, Fr. Lee Jirovsky, son of Carl & Ellen. Though she admired him in his vocation, she had advice for him too. Alyce had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Alyce will be missed by many relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials can be made to Family Wishes for later designation.
