Jovel Carreto Ortega, 20, of Schuyler, died Saturday, March 16, at the result of a vehicle accident.
A funeral service will be held at Cristo Vienne Iglesia in Schuyler starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22. Family greeting friends will be held at 815 Adams Street in Schuyler on Friday starting at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p m. Burial will be at the Schuyler Cemetery, Saturday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m.
Jovel was born March 4, 2004 in Schuyler to Carlos and Camelina (Romeo) Carreto Ortega. He graduated from Schuyler High School. Jovel enjoyed spending time with his sister, Evelyn and brother, Brandon as well as his cat, Alex. Jovel also had another brother, Henry. On paydays, he would take his brothers to the store and buy them cookies, chips, and snacks. He enjoyed playing his Playstation with his siblings. Jovel loved his mom, giving her hugs and kisses on the cheek.
Jovel is survived by his parents: Carlos and Carmelina, siblings: Evelyn, Brandon, and Henry, and several friends.

Se llevará a cabo un funeral en la Iglesia Cristo Vienne en Schuyler a partir de las 8:00 p.m. el viernes 22 de marzo. El saludo familiar a los amigos se llevará a cabo en 815 Adams Street en Schuyler el viernes a partir de las 4:00 p.m. hasta las 20:00 horas. El entierro será en el Cementerio Schuyler el sábado 23 de marzo a las 10:00 a.m.
Jovel nació el 4 de marzo de 2004 en Schuyler, hijo de Carlos y Camelina (Romeo) Carreto Ortega. Se graduó de la escuela secundaria Schuyler.
